LOW BACK PAIN AMONG OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS AND ITS ASSOCIATED RISK FACTORS

Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common work–related health problems, affecting care professionals. In Malaysia, research data on prevalence low pain, and its associated risk factors, among occupational therapists, currently lacking. view this situation study aimed at identifying prevalence, effects LBP, therapists in Malaysia. This cross-sectional involves a total 287 therapists. The instruments used include demographic information, Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire, an Oswestry Back Pain Disability Questionnaire. Data were collected online, processed with use SPSS-21. revealed high lifetime (79.4%), one-year (71.1%) LBP comparison to point (28.6%). significant factors identified as gender, exercise status, work stress level, poor working posture. Among those afflicted 53.4% experienced reduction activity, while 81.6% affected by minimal functional disability. A substantial proportion endure disability which consequently has negative effect their leisure time life. As such, efforts should be directed introducing multilevel interventions, for prevention control terms highly vulnerable group.
